The Olympic Games Paris 2024 is waiting! You might be a regular on the international scene and have lots of anti-doping experience and simply need to check you are up-to-date, or you are still relatively new to the scene and want more information. Wherever your starting point is, we have put together this page to support you on your clean sport journey to Paris and beyond.
As an elite athlete competing in Paris, knowledge is power. If you know what you need to do and what to expect regarding anti-doping when you are at the Games, then you can focus on what you are there for: to perform at your best.
Engaging with clean sport education as an athlete will empower you to have control over your sport career.
Your National Olympic Committee (NOC) or National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) should have already provided you with clean sport education or have plans to before Paris 2024. If not, or if you would like to know more, here are some options for you.

The course was developed by WADA in cooperation with the ITA and the IOC and it is strongly recommended that everyone attending the Games completes this e-learning. It provides a comprehensive overview of the anti-doping program at the Games and includes important Games-specific information such as key dates, roles and responsibilities and the TUE application process. By completing the course, you’ll be well prepared for the Games!

Doping control is part of being an elite athlete so it is important you know what to expect and your rights and responsibilities when you are selected for testing. The anti-doping system recognises that athletes may have a need to take or use a prohibited medication or method for health reasons. If this is the case an athlete must apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE).
You should follow the usual process defined by your IF and NADO and submit new requests to your IF or NADO. The process is described here. Pre-existing TUEs will follow the IOC recognition process and there is no need to re-submit your TUE to the IOC.
All Athletes participating in the Olympic Games should apply as a first resort to the ITA’s TUE office located in the polyclinic of the Olympic Village (booking an appointment is advised).
TO APPLY TO THE ITA FOR A TUE, PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW.
NOTE THAT FOR SECURITY REASONS, IT IS NOT ADVISED TO SEND APPLICATIONS BY EMAIL.
1) Fill in the TUE Application Form, sign it and have it signed by your physician.
2) Gather all the necessary supporting medical documentation (Resources List | World Anti-Doping Agency (wada-ama.org)
3A – Book an appointment and provide the form and the supporting through the online portal that will be opened during the appointment.

3B) Submit the form and the supporting documentation directly in ADAMS, if you are familiar with the process. You can call us at 0041 21 612 12 72 should you require support. A French phone number will be available during the Period of the Games and we can also help you in person, at the TUE office situated in the polyclinic of the Paris Olympic Village (it is advised to book a meeting in advance).
For any other situations, please contact us by phone so that we can assess the situation and help you submit your application.
Your TUE application must be submitted in a legible form using capital letters or typing.
