The International Fencing Federation (FIE) is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the world governing body of fencing. Fencing is recognised as an Olympic sport since 1896. FIE has currently 157 affiliated member federations all over the world. In 2013, the FIE celebrated its 100th anniversary.
