The World Karate Federation (WKF) is the global governing body for karate. Recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and with 201 member countries around the world, the WKF is dedicated to promoting and developing karate at all levels while upholding the values of respect, discipline, and excellence. With headquarters in Madrid, Spain and with Mr Antonio Espinós as President, the WKF organises major Karate events globally and manages the sport for its over 100 million fans and practitioners worldwide. The WKF’s most important events are the World Senior Individual Championships and Karate World Cup (World Team Championships), held every other year, and the World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships, held every two years.
