The AFLD is an independent public authority formed in 2006. It ensures that all French athletes, amateur or professional, whatever their discipline, are subject to anti-doping regulations and may be tested if they take part in competitions or training in preparation for them. Whether it is a question of collecting or analysing samples, issuing authorisations for the use of prohibited substances or handling disciplinary cases, the AFLD exercises its missions and powers independently, objectively and neutrally.
