The City of Lausanne is the home of the IOC since 1915, and officially the “Olympic Capital” since 1994. Over the years, the Canton of Vaud and the City of Lausanne, in close co-operation with the Swiss federal authorities, have created particularly favourable conditions for welcoming international sports federations, 55 of which have now established their headquarters there.
