Our friends at the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) encourage everyone to support clean sport from home during Tokyo 2020, and to create a legacy together.
These editions of the Olympic and Paralympic Games are taking place in very unique circumstances – the global pandemic had an impact on everything from the ability for spectators to attend events to the format and scale of on-site activations.
In light of these changes, JADA, together with the Japan Sports Agency, have quickly adjusted their plans to allow all Games supporters to participate virtually and to send messages of support for clean sport from any part of the World.
Do you want to get involved? Here is what you can do.
A legacy of these Games that will live on long after the Olympic flame is extinguished in Tokyo is the PLAY TRUE Planet. Your true love of sport, true passion for sport and what you value about sport can all be put into the message on this virtual planet.
Leaving a message is easy. First, choose where on the planet you want to leave your message. Next, choose the value icon and colour that best represents you. Finally, create your message and send away – true to sport, true to yourself!
Your message will be merged with messages sent by people from all over the world, and instantly integrated into a piece of live art. Even if we cannot come together in person, we can still share this virtual experience – just like we share many of the same sport values!
The PLAY TRUE RELAY is another Tokyo 2020 project in which athletes from different countries, sports and generations take part, leaving a legacy of the “TRUTH” in sport, embracing the world and the future.
The “TRUTH” that each athlete has found through sport and in living was inscribed as a message in a Makimono, a traditional Japanese scroll paper used to pass on important messages. This Makimono is relayed as a message to the world and to the future.
To join the PLAY TRUE RELAY with athletes from all around the world, simply take a picture with the Filter Pose, add your “TRUTH” message and post the photo on social media – make sure you use the hashtags #iplaytrue and #playtrue2020.

PlayTrue2020 is another legacy project for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, led by the Government of Japan and the Japan Anti-Doping Agency. PlayTrue2020 has developed a wide range of both values-based and rules-based clean sport resources.
All resources are free to use and download, so browse around! There is a wealth of materials to choose from and if you are not sure where to start, we recommend watching the Doping Control Process video first. And if you like MANGA, the JADA YouTube channel has plenty more fun and short clips.
Finally, don’t forget to follow JADA on social media, and to tag them in any of your clean sport messages:
