The ITA sanctions kickboxing athlete Abbos Bozorboyev with a 4-year period of ineligibility

The ITA confirms that Abbos Bozorboyev has been suspended for a 4-year period, effective from 21 November 2024 (date of the provisional suspension) until 20 November 2028, after testing positive for meldonium (S4. Hormone and Metabolic Modulators as per the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list). The positive sample was collected by the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) in the scope of an in competition control on 13 October 2024 during the Asian Kickboxing Championships 2024, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The sanction was issued by the ITA on behalf of WAKO in accordance with article 8.3.3 of the WAKO Anti-Doping Rules (and equivalent provision in the World Anti-Doping Code). The athlete’s results have been disqualified from 13 October 2024 onwards.
