The ITA sanctions Vietnamese gymnast Ha Vi Tran with a 24-month period of ineligibility

The International Testing Agency (ITA) confirms that Ha Vi Tran has been suspended for a 24-month period, effective until 15 November 2025 after testing positive for hydrochlorothiazide, chlorothiazide, amiloride and sibutramine (S5. Diuretics and Masking Agents and S6. Stimulants as per the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list). The positive sample was collected on behalf of the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) in the scope of an in‑competition control on 16 September 2023 during the 2023 FIG Asian Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The case was resolved via an agreement on consequences pursuant to article 8.3.1 of the FIG Anti-Doping Rules (FIG ADR, and equivalent provision in the World Anti-Doping Code). The athlete’s results have been disqualified from 16 September 2023 onwards.
