The ITA confirms that a sample collected from German bobsleigh athlete Simon Wulff has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding¹ for 4-methylhexan-2-amine (methylhexaneamine), a specified substance prohibited in-competition, according to the Prohibited List of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The sample was collected by ITA at the 2024 IBSF World Cup, Altenberg during an in-competition anti-doping control performed on 7 December 2024.
4-methylhexan-2-amine (methylhexaneamine) is prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Prohibited List as a specified stimulant (S6.B).
The athlete has been informed of the case and has the right to request the analysis of the B-sample.
In accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the IBSF Anti-Doping Rules no provisional suspension was imposed against the athlete who remains free to compete during the ongoing proceedings.²
If the B-sample analysis is requested and confirms the result of the A-sample, the case will be considered as a confirmed anti-doping rule violation. If the B-sample analysis is not requested, the case will also go ahead as a confirmed anti-doping rule violation. The athlete will have the opportunity to present his explanations for the result.
Given that the case is underway, there will be no further comments made.
