The ITA confirms that weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah is charged with an ADRV under Article 2.4 of the IWF Anti-Doping Rules (IWF ADR) for committing three whereabouts failures within a 12-month period.1
Further, in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and Article 7.4.2 of the IWF Anti-Doping Rules, on 15 September 2026 a provisional suspension was imposed on the athlete. The athlete challenged the provisional suspension and requested for a provisional hearing (to lift the provisional suspension imposed) and provisional measures.2
On 24 September 2026, the anti-doping division of the court of arbitration for sport (CAS ADD) denied the athlete’s request for provisional measures and maintained the provisional suspension imposed by the ITA.
The case will now continue for a determination on the finding of the ADRV and applicable sanction.
Pursuant to the IWF’s delegation of its anti-doping program to the ITA, the prosecution of the case is being handled entirely by the ITA.
Given that the case is ongoing, there will be no further comments made.
1 Athletes included in a Registered Testing Pool (RTP), such as Rizki Juniansyah, have the obligation to provide daily whereabouts as well as a specific daily 60-minute time slot where they will be available for testing. The purpose is to allow anti-doping organisations to locate athletes for unannounced out-of-competition testing. Any combination of three missed tests (which relate to the athletes’ unavailability with respect to their 60-minute time slot) and/or filing failures (which are caused by the athletes’ failure to provide accurate whereabouts) committed within a twelve-month period amount to an ADRV as per article 2.4 of IWF ADR and World Anti-Doping Code.
2 A provisional measure is a temporary remedy granted to a party to stop the execution of a decision while the adjudicatory process is ongoing.
