The ITA reports that a sample collected from athlete Kholmurod Egamberdiev has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding¹ for the non-specified prohibited substance Human Growth Hormone (hGH) (classified as S2. Peptides Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances, and Mimetics according to the Prohibited List of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)).
The sample was collected by the ITA under the testing authority and results management authority of World Rowing during an out-of-competition anti-doping control on 1 August 2024. The result was reported by the WADA-accredited laboratory of Seibersdorf on 23 August 2024.
The athlete has been informed of the case and has been provisionally suspended until the resolution of the matter in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and the WR Anti-Doping Rules. This means that the athlete is prevented from competing, training, coaching, or participating in any activity, also during the Paralympics Games Paris 2024.
The athlete also has the right to request the analysis of the B-sample.
Pursuant to the WR’s delegation of its anti-doping program to the ITA, the prosecution of the case is being handled entirely by the ITA. Given that the case is underway, there will be no further comments made.
