On 24 April 2024, the International Testing Agency (ITA), on behalf of United World Wrestling (UWW), notified Ms Ologonova of an asserted ADRV under Article 2.2 (Use or Attempted Use of a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method) of the 2009 UWW Anti-Doping Rules (UWW ADR). The assertion was based on evidence obtained from the Moscow Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) data retrieved by the Intelligence and Investigation Department of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) during its investigations into systemic doping practices in Russian sport, as well as the reports of Prof. Richard McLaren.
The evidence established that a sample collected from Ms Ologonova on 8 November 2014 at the European Nations Alrosa Cup in Moscow contained tuaminoheptane, a specified substance prohibited in-competition under the WADA Prohibited List.
Following the results management process conducted by the ITA, the matter was referred to CAS ADD for adjudication. After considering the parties’ submissions and evidence, CAS ADD found that Ms Ologonova had committed an ADRV in accordance with Article 2.2 of the 2009 UWW ADR.
As a result, CAS ADD has imposed a period of ineligibility of eighteen months starting on 24 April 2024 until 23 October 2025; and the disqualification of the competitive results from 8 November 2014 until 8 July 2015, with all resulting consequences, including forfeiture of medals, points, and prizes.
Parties with a right of appeal may challenge the decision before the CAS Appeals Arbitration Division as provided for in Article 13 of the UWW ADR.
The ITA will not comment further on this case.
