On 21 October 2024, the ARISF General Assembly took the decision of principle according to which all international sport federations members of ARISF (see full list here) shall delegate the management of their anti-doping activities to the ITA in order to guarantee independence, expertise and integrity in the worldwide fight against doping.
Since that decision, ARISF and the ITA have been working to seek ways to support ARISF members with the delivery of their anti-doping programs. As a result, in 2025, the ITA will implement a tailored education strategy developed specifically for the ARISF community. Aligned with the International Standard for Education (ISE), this initiative supports federations in meeting their obligations under the World Anti-Doping Code and empowers them to build sustainable education programs.
As part of the collaboration, ARISF members will have access to the ITA International Clean Sport Educator (ICSE) program — a structured training course designed to develop qualified educators within anti-doping organisations. Participants selected by their respective international federations will complete six self-paced online modules, attend live expert-led sessions, and join peer learning meetings. Graduates of the program will be equipped to confidently deliver anti-doping education to athletes and athlete support personnel and guide their organisations in planning and implementing effective, tailored programs. Each ARISF federation will be invited to nominate a certain number of individuals — ideally including at least one athlete — to participate, encouraging peer-to-peer learning and ensuring grassroots reach. To support this, the ITA will provide communication tools and additional materials to help international federations roll out education globally, regionally and across their national member federations.
In parallel, a tailored multilingual webinar series — the IF Series — will be launched to provide broad-reaching, interactive clean sport education to athletes and support personnel. The series will consist of three live sessions delivered by international experts and will include simultaneous translation in Arabic, French, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, and Spanish. The webinars will cover key topics outlined in the ISE, and participants who complete a final knowledge check will receive an ITA certificate of completion. To ensure wider accessibility, all ARISF members will receive a promotional package and recordings of the sessions.
“This collaboration with ARISF is an important step in our mission to ensure that athletes and support personnel at all levels have access to high-quality, widely available clean sport education,” said Benjamin Cohen, ITA Director General. “We look forward to working closely with each ARISF federation to build lasting capacity in education and uphold the integrity of sport.”
Reflecting on the collaboration, ARISF President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli said:
“At ARISF, we believe education is a cornerstone of integrity in sport. Our Strategic Plan is not just a document, it is a framework for action. This partnership with the ITA brings meaningful support to our members by providing them with structured, high-quality educational opportunities. Together, we are empowering federations to lead by example and promote a culture of clean sport within their communities.”
This joint initiative builds on the ITA’s broader mission to deliver clean sport education that is tailored, compliant, and impactful — supporting a global culture of clean sport through strategic partnerships.
