The ITA is the world’s first independent anti-doping organisation, dedicated to implementing comprehensive and expert-led clean sport programs worldwide. As a neutral body free from any conflict of interest, the ITA ensures that anti-doping efforts are carried out with the utmost integrity, expertise, and fairness—safeguarding athletes and promoting a level playing field across all the sports and for all organisations it works with.
Through this new partnership, On and the ITA will work together to provide On’s athletes with complementary high-quality anti-doping measures and education programs, reinforcing their protection and ensuring they compete in a clean, fair, and safe sporting environment. Through this partnership, the ITA will oversee anti-doping efforts for On’s triathlon athletes, leveraging its existing collaboration with World Triathlon to provide a seamless extension of its programs in the sport and within the framework of the World Triathlon Anti-Doping Rules, as well as the World Anti-Doping Code and all relevant International Standards. For On athletes competing in other disciplines, additional anti-doping measures will be implemented in close cooperation with the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU)—a collaboration that originates from the initial partnership between On and the ITA.
This initiative is not about targeting athletes, but rather about ensuring that On’s roster benefits from the most professional and independent anti-doping measures available today. By proactively engaging with the world’s largest organisation dedicated to anti-doping programs, On is setting a new benchmark in athlete care and clean sport advocacy.
“We applaud On for taking the initiative to ensure its athletes are protected by independent, expert anti-doping programs,” said Benjamin Cohen, ITA Director General. “This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to fostering a clean and fair sporting environment where athletes can compete with confidence, knowing they are safeguarded by the best clean sport programs available and that they are educated about their rights and responsibilities.”
As the largest organisation leading anti-doping programs worldwide, the ITA currently implements anti-doping programs for over 70 Olympic and non-Olympic sports, as well as for several Major Event Organisers. This includes the International Olympic Committee (IOC), under whose mandate the ITA was responsible for clean sport measures at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Among the athletes competing at those Games, 65 were sponsored by On.
“We’re investing in this partnership with the ITA and World Triathlon to provide our athletes with more than just increased testing; it also enables us to support them with vital anti-doping education and expertise through our ‘On Athlete Compass’ program so they can compete with complete confidence and rest assured that the playing field is level. This important collaboration reflects our deep commitment to athlete well-being and the integrity of sport.”, said Flavio Calligaris, On’s Senior Director of Athlete Strategy & Partnership.
By taking this proactive and voluntary step, On is reinforcing its position as a leader in athlete welfare and pioneering a new model for commercial sports brands to actively support clean sport efforts. This partnership demonstrates that safeguarding athletes and the integrity of sport are not just the responsibility of the sporting institutions and sporting event organisers but for everyone involved in sport.
