The sample was collected by the ITA under the testing authority and results management authority of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during an in-competition anti-doping control on 30 July 2024 in Paris, France, during the Men’s -81 kg 1/16 final. The result was reported by the WADA-accredited laboratory of Paris on 1 August 2024.
The athlete has been informed of the case and has been provisionally suspended until the resolution of the matter in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and the IOC Anti-Doping Rules applicable to the Olympic Games Paris 2024. This means that the athlete is prevented from competing, training, coaching, or participating in any activity, during the Olympic Summer Games Paris 2024.
The athlete has the right to challenge the imposition of the provisional suspension before the Court of Arbitration for Sport – Anti-Doping Division (CAS ADD).
The athlete also has the right to request the analysis of the B-sample.
The ITA is a not-for-profit organisation specialising in the delivery of comprehensive clean sport operations. ITA manages an independent anti-doping program for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 on behalf of the IOC.
Given that the case is underway, there will be no further comments during the ongoing proceeding.
