Therefore, the ITA created an online learning experience in order to continue its education efforts during the COVID-19 crisis. Our webinar series aims at giving athletes and their support personnel an overview of all aspects of the doping control system. Due to popular demand, the International Testing Agency has decided to make its entire webinar series publicly available to the broader sports community. Please find the topics and dates of the whole series further below.
The fourth session of our webinar series will focus on medications, supplements, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), and the Prohibited List. Sports pharmacist Mark Stuart will speak about the Prohibited List, how to check medications, and the risks associated with supplements. Sports Medicine Physician Margo Mountjoy will speak about Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), including practical tips and advice for athletes and athlete support personnel. Former professional Australian rules footballer Eric Mackenzie will speak about his experience with TUEs throughout a 12-season career. Inadvertent doping continues to be a big challenge in many sports and the goal of this session is to empower athletes with information and knowledge they need to navigate the complex anti-doping system.
