The ITA confirms that a sample collected in-competition from Nada Abbas on 28 May 2022 at the PSA El Gouna International 2022 returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for the prohibited substance 4-methylhexan-2-amine (methylhexaneamine).
4-Methylhexan-2-amine is classified as a specified stimulant on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) prohibited list. It is banned for athletes at all times, during and between competitions.
The case was resolved via an acceptance of consequences pursuant to Article 8.3.1. of the World Squash Federation’s anti-doping rules. The athlete accepted a sanction of a 6-month period of ineligibility from 25 July 2022 until 24 January 2023. The athlete’s results from 28 May 2022 onwards have also been disqualified.
The prosecution of the matter was handled by the ITA on behalf of the World Squash Federation.
