What is changing as of 28 May 2025?
SMS-based login codes will no longer be supported. If you currently receive a code via SMS to log in to ADAMS, this option will stop working on 28 May. Email-based One-Time Password (OTP) will replace SMS OTP.
The following two 2FA options will be available:
- Authenticator App (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator): A time-based one-time password (TOTP) generated by an app on your smartphone or tablet. This method works without an internet connection once it is set up.
- Email-based One-Time Password (OTP): A single-use code will be sent to your registered email address each time you log in. Entering this code will confirm your identity.
These changes aim to increase account security and reliability, as email-based OTPs and authenticator apps are less vulnerable to interception and do not depend on mobile networks.
What actions are required?
- If you are already using an Authenticator App (e.g. Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator), no action is needed. Your access to ADAMS will remain unchanged.
- If you are currently using SMS codes to log in, you must switch to either an Authenticator App or Email-based One-Time Password (OTP) before 28 May 2025, as SMS OTP will no longer be supported.
- Please ensure the email address linked to your ADAMS account is correct and up to date, as this will be essential for using the Email OTP option.
Note: Athletes who access their whereabouts platform via an alternative system (e.g. USADA’s Athlete Connect) and do not use ADAMS directly are not affected by this change.
