The ITA reports that a urine sample collected during an out-of-competition doping control on 25 April 2026 during the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 from athletics athlete Fatek Adnan Awadh BAIT QISAN (Sultanate of Oman) has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF)¹ for SARMS LGD-4033 (ligandrol) metabolite.
SARMS LGD-4033 (ligandrol) metabolite is prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list as S1.2 other anabolic agents. It is classified as non‑specified substance and prohibited at all times (in- and out-of-competition). SARMS LGD-4033 (ligandrol) is an anabolic agent which can be used for muscle building and strength enhancement.
The athlete accepted the consequences of his ADRV under the OCA anti-doping rules, namely the finding of the ADRV and the disqualification of his individual results obtained at the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 which include his 4th place in men’s 4x60m relay final.
The ITA issued the sanction on behalf of the OCA in accordance with article 8.3.3 of the OCA anti-doping rules (and equivalent provision in the World Anti-Doping Code).²
In addition, in accordance with Article 11.3 of the OCA anti-doping rules, the question of whether to disqualify the results achieved by the Omani men’s team in the 4 x 60m Relay was referred to the OCA Hearing Panel. Following its consideration of the matter, the OCA Hearing Panel ordered the disqualification of the team’s results.
The matter is considered as resolved from the perspective of the OCA and was transferred to World Athletics for a determination of further consequences under the World Athletics anti-doping rules.
Parties with a right of appeal may challenge the decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in accordance with article 12.2 of the OCA anti-doping rules.
¹ A report from a WADA-accredited laboratory that, consistent with the International Standard for Laboratories, establishes in a sample the presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolites or markers or evidence of the use of a prohibited method.
² When an athlete does not challenge the assertion of an ADRV and does not request a hearing, anti-doping organisations have the possibility to issue a written decision sanctioning the athlete and imposing the applicable consequences without having to refer the case to a hearing panel. This is provided in article 8.3 of the OCA anti-doping rules and article 8.3 of the World Anti-Doping Code.
