The AAF results from the re-analysis of a sample collected on 16 January 2016 during the third round of the 2016 UCI Track World Cup in Hong Kong (China).
This re-analysis was conducted as part of the long-term sample storage and re-analysis program led by the International Testing Agency (ITA) on behalf of the UCI. The initiative is a key component of the UCI’s independent anti-doping program managed by the ITA since 2021. Re-analysis enables stored samples to be re-examined based on new intelligence, investigative findings, or advancements in detection technology, thereby broadening the scope of potential rule violations and reinforcing the deterrent effect of anti-doping measures.
Under the World Anti-Doping Code, samples may be stored for up to 10 years after their collection and can be subjected to re-analysis with the same legal consequences as initial testing.
In accordance with the UCI Anti-Doping Rules, the rider has been provisionally suspended. She has the right to request the analysis of the B sample.
As the proceedings are ongoing, no further comments will be made at this time.
