International Standard for Therapeutic Use Exemptions (ISTUE)

The World Anti-Doping Code International Standard for Therapeutic Use Exemptions is a mandatory International Standard developed as part of the World Anti-Doping Program. It was developed in consultation with Signatories, public authorities and other relevant stakeholders.

A revised version was approved by the WADA Executive Committee at the World Conference on Doping in Sport in Katowice on 7 November 2019 and is effective as of 1 January 2021.

International Standard for Education (ISE)

The World Anti-Doping Code International Standard for Education is a mandatory
International Standard developed as part of the World Anti-Doping Program. It was
developed in consultation with Signatories, public authorities, and other relevant
stakeholders.

The International Standard for Education was first adopted and approved by the
WADA Executive Committee at the Fifth World Conference on Doping in Sport in
in Katowice on 7 November 2019 and is effective as of 1 January 2021.

2021 International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories (ISCCS)

The World Anti-Doping Code International Standard for Code Compliance by
Signatories is a mandatory International Standard developed as part of the World
Anti-Doping Program. It was developed in consultation with Signatories, public
authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.

World Anti-Doping Code 2021

The World Anti-Doping Code (Code) is the core document that harmonizes anti-doping policies, rules and regulations within sport organizations and among public authorities around the world. It works in conjunction with eight International Standards which aim to foster consistency among anti-doping organizations in various areas.

The 2021 Prohibited List

Since 2004, and as mandated by World Anti-Doping Code, WADA has published an annual List of Prohibited Substances and Methods (List).The List, which forms one of the six International Standards, identifies the substances and methods prohibited in- and out-of-competition, and in particular sports. The substances and methods on the List are classified by different categories (e.g., steroids, stimulants, gene doping).
