For the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has entrusted the International Testing Agency (ITA) with the independent management of the anti‑doping program, safeguarding clean sport and the protection of youth athletes.
The Dakar 2026 Organising Committee (YOCOG) will act as the Sample Collection Authority (SCA) during the Games.
Clean Sport Education
Clean sport education is a fundamental component of any effective anti‑doping program and plays a key role in protecting athletes.
The ITA NOC Clean Sport Education Guide for Dakar 2026 has been developed by the ITA in collaboration with the IOC. This resource is designed to support National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and other stakeholders in delivering clean sport education to their athletes and Athlete Support Personnel (ASP) in preparation for the Games.
NOCs have a specific responsibility under the World Anti-Doping Code, in the context of Major Events, to ensure that athletes selected to participate in the Games – as well as their ASP – are educated prior to the event.

Importance of Pre-Games Education
Providing education ahead of the Games is essential to ensure that athletes arrive informed, prepared, and empowered. Early education helps young athletes understand their rights and responsibilities, identify risks, and navigate anti‑doping processes with confidence.
Additional learning opportunities are available through the Athlete365 platform and the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) ADEL e‑learning courses, which offer accessible and interactive education on clean sport and preparation for major events.
