The International Testing Agency (ITA) managed the anti-doping program for the European Youth Olympic Festival Bakuriani 2025 on behalf of the European Olympic Committees (EOC). During the festival, which took place from 6-16 February 2025, 3 host cities – Bakuriani, Batumi and Tbilisi hosted competitions for 1,600 athletes from 48 European countries, on 5 competition venues for 8 winter sports: Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Cross-Country Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Snowboard, Ice Hockey, Figure Skating and Short Track Speed Skating.
The presence of the ITA Education Ambassador on-site (Florence Schelling, a former Swiss ice-hockey athlete with a 25-year career), conducting workshops over five days in three cities (Tbilisi, Bakuriani & Batumi), was crucial for young athletes, most of whom have never undergone doping control.
