This will encompass an in-depth risk assessment across all participating sports, aiding in the creation of a customised testing program. Collaborating with participating International Federations (IFs), relevant National Anti-Doping Organisations (NADOs) and Asian Federations, the ITA aims to enhance pre-Games testing on potentially participating athletes. Furthermore, the ITA will facilitate the exchange of information with IFs and other entities to gather pertinent intelligence for targeted testing strategies.
During the event, the ITA will be present to oversee the implementation of the Test Distribution Plan and the administration of Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) and will leverage its close partnership with the Local Organising Committee and the Chinese Anti-Doping Agency (CHINADA).
Should any potential anti-doping rule violations fall under the jurisdiction of the OCA in relation to the Hangzhou Asian Games, the ITA will independently pursue and prosecute these cases before the appropriate authorities.
Additionally, the ITA developed a specialised education and activities plan for the Games, aligned with the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) International Standard for Education.
