The Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 may be your first international major event and your first exposure to anti-doping or you may be a regular on the international scene and have lots of anti-doping experience. Wherever your starting point is, we have put together this page to support you on your clean sport journey to Gangwon and beyond.
As a youth athlete competing in Gangwon, knowledge is power. If you know what you need to do and what to expect regarding anti-doping when you get to the Games, then you can focus on what you are there for: to perform at your best.
Engaging with clean sport education as an athlete will empower you to have control over your sport career.
Your National Olympic Committee (NOC) or National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) may have already provided you with clean sport education or have plans to before Gangwon 2024. If not, or if you would like to know more, here are some options for you.
It will be our pleasure to host a free, dedicated webinar on the Gangwon 2024 anti-doping program. This webinar will be led and delivered by athletes for athletes and Athlete Support Personnel attending the Games.
Mark your calendars for 12 December, 2pm CET
Delivered in English with simultaneous translation into Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish

This eLearning course has been designed for talented-level athletes competing at a major event. By taking this course, athletes will learn about the anti-doping rules, why some medications are prohibited in sport and the testing process.
ITA Education Ambassadors will be onsite at the Games in the Athlete 365 space delivering clean sport activities in collaboration with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Athlete Engagement Team and the Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA). We encourage you to come and say hi, complete a fun clean sport education activity, and ask any questions!
If you are an administrator or educator looking for support and inspiration to deliver a clean sport education program or initiative for youth athletes, check out the NOC Clean Sport Education Guide for Gangwon 2024.
Peeing in a cup in front of a stranger… probably not your first choice of activity, but consider it as recognition of your success as someone wants to check you have done it the right way through hard and smart work. Being tested is part of being an elite athlete and it definitely helps if you know what to expect if you are selected for testing.

The anti-doping system recognises that athletes may have a need to take or use a prohibited medication or method for health reasons. If this is the case an athlete must apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE).
You should follow the usual process defined by your IF and NADO and submit new requests to your IF or NADO. Pre-existing TUEs will follow the IOC recognition process and there is no need to re-submit your TUE to the IOC.
Please follow the below steps.
1) Fill in the TUE Application Form, sign it and have it signed by your physician.
2) Gather all the necessary supporting medical documentation (Resources List | World Anti-Doping Agency (wada-ama.org).
3) Book an appointment and provide the form and the supporting documentation to the TUE office situated in the polyclinic of the Olympic Village through the online portal that will be opened during the appointment.
OR
Submit the form and the supporting documentation directly in ADAMS, if you are familiar with the process or at the ITA office in the Olympic Village. You can call us at 0041 21 612 12 72 should you require support.
If you have any further questions you can find answers on our dedicated Therapeutic Use Exemptions – Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 page.
