Clean Sport education reaches athletes at the first World Beach SAMBO Championships

ITA Education Ambassador, Dr. Thais Cevada, hosted a clean sport education booth throughout the Championships, giving athletes and their support personnel the chance to test their knowledge, ask questions and explore anti-doping topics in an informal and interactive environment. Thais also walked athletes through the doping control process, shared practical tips on checking medications and supplements and helped them understand how they can take an active role in protecting themselves in sport. While awareness of anti-doping was already present among some athletes, many participants had never been tested before. The booth therefore provided a valuable opportunity to build practical knowledge around clean sport and help athletes feel more prepared.

“It was really great to have fun and learn how to protect myself. I feel ready to encourage my teammates to engage and learn about it as well,” said one athlete from Israel. An athlete from Colombia added: “I didn’t know that clean sport education could be this fun!”

The successful on-site education activity at the World Beach SAMBO Championships highlighted the value of bringing clean sport education directly to athletes in competition environments, making it easier for athletes to ask questions, build confidence and take an active role in protecting clean sport.
