Olympic Games Paris 2024 – ITA sanctions Egyptian wrestler Amr Reda Ramadan Hussen for an anti doping rule violation

The International Testing Agency (ITA) reports that wrestler Amr Reda Ramadan Hussen (Egypt) has been sanctioned for an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) for Use of a Prohibited Method based on the investigation of paraphernalia found at an Olympic venue.

¹ The ITA confirms that no Prohibited Substance was found in infusion bag, flow regulator or needle.

² When an athlete does not challenge the assertion of an ADRV and does not request a hearing, anti-doping organisations have the possibility to issue a written decision sanctioning the athlete and imposing the applicable consequences without having to refer the case to a hearing panel. This is provided in articles 7.3.2 and 7.8.3 of the IOC ADR and article 8.3 of the World Anti-Doping Code.

³ Mr Ramadan Hussen was not subject to a mandatory provisional suspension since the prohibited method is classified as a specified method and the period of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 had already concluded. Accordingly, pursuant to the ITA’s Public Disclosure Policy with regards to ADRVs, the case was not publicly reported pending the conclusion of its results management.
