For the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has entrusted the International Testing Agency (ITA) with the independent management of the anti‑doping program, safeguarding clean sport and the protection of youth athletes.
The Dakar 2026 Organising Committee (YOCOG) will act as the Sample Collection Authority (SCA) during the Games.
CLEAN SPORT EDUCATION PROGRAM
Clean sport education is an essential element of an anti-doping program and plays a vital role in protecting athletes. The NOC Clean Sport Education Guide for Dakar 2026 is a resource designed by the International Testing Agency (ITA) in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and with the support of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). This resource was developed to support National Olympic Committees (NOCs) taking part in the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 with clean sport education for their athletes and athlete support personnel (ASP) ahead of the Games.
NOCs have a specific responsibility around Major Events to educate athletes selected to participate in the Games and their ASP. As a complementary resource to the NOC Anti-Doping Education Guidebook developed for Beijing 2022, this guide provides targeted signposts, resources and inspiration for educating youth athletes.
THE NOC CLEAN SPORT EDUCATION GUIDE: A RESOURCE FOR THE YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES DAKAR 2026 WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD SOON.
The World Anti-Doping Code International Standard for Education promotes the principle that athletes and their ASP should be educated before arriving at a Major Games or event. Therefore, clean sport education and the NOC Clean Sport Education Guide are essential in the lead-up to the Games to educate and protect athletes.
