The ITA sanctions mixed martial arts athlete Jaime Samuel Sierra Lara with a 24-month period of ineligibility

The ITA confirms that Jaime Samuel Sierra Lara has been suspended for a 24-month period, effective until 6 April 2027, after testing positive for bumetanide (S5. Diuretics and Masking Agents as per the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list). The positive sample was collected by the ITA on behalf of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) in the scope of an out-of-competition control on 18 November 2023.

The sanction was issued by the ITA on behalf of the IMMAF in accordance with article 8.3.3 of the IMMAF Anti-Doping Rules (and equivalent provision in the World Anti-Doping Code). The athlete’s results have been disqualified from 18 November 2023 onwards.
