The ITA sanctions kickboxing athlete Pavle Vusurovic with a 24-month period of ineligibility

 The ITA confirms that Pavle Vusurovic has been suspended for a 24-month period, effective until 12 November 2025, after testing positive for furosemide (S5. Diuretics and Masking Agents as per the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list). The positive sample was collected by the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) in the scope of an out-of-competition control on 26 August 2023 prior to the WAKO Children, Cadets and Junior European Championships 2023, Istanbul, Türkiye.

The sanction was issued by the ITA on behalf of WAKO in accordance with article 8.3.3 of the WAKO Anti-Doping Rules (and equivalent provision in the World Anti-Doping Code). The athlete’s results have been disqualified from 26 August 2023 onwards.
