Τhe role of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) is to promote Sport and Olympism, as well as the ideals and values they embody in the countries of the Mediterranean Basin.
The ICGM is dedicated to promoting the spirit of peace, friendship, excellence, open mindedness and unity among the countries of the Mediterranean Basin, a sea that for 3000 years has given birth to great civilisations, religions, cultures and traditions, as well as the Values and the Spirit of Olympism.
Mediterranean Games
The 2026 Mediterranean Games (Taranto 2026) will take place in Taranto, Italy, from 21 August to 3 September 2026. The event will bring together over 4,000 athletes from around 26 Mediterranean nations, competing in a multi-sport program that includes 10 tournaments and 33 events.
Hosted across Taranto and the wider Apulia region, the Games are a major multi-sport event inspired by the Olympic model, promoting competition, cooperation, and shared values among countries of the Mediterranean basin.
