The ITA has taken note of the declaration made by the UCI WorldTeam EF Education-EasyPost on 21 June 2024, announcing the immediate termination by the team of the contract of Italian rider Andrea Piccolo

The International Testing Agency (ITA) has taken note of the declaration made by the UCI WorldTeam EF Education-EasyPost on 21 June 2024, announcing the immediate termination by the team of the contract of Italian rider Andrea Piccolo due to suspicion of transporting human growth hormone (hGH). *
The search of the rider was the result of an investigation led by the ITA and its close collaboration with the Italian National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO Italia) and the Italian police authorities (NAS Carabinieri).

The ITA will make no further comment on this matter.

*hGH is a Prohibited Substance belonging to class S2 Peptide Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances and Mimetics of the Prohibited List maintained by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and adopted by the UCI.
