ITA STANDS COMMITTED AND READY TO MANAGE TOKYO 2020 ANTI-DOPING PROGRAMME IN 2021

The ITA was ready to deliver the most extensive and robust anti-doping programme for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

This trajectory was interrupted by the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the world. Next to concerns about the health & safety of athletes, staff, volunteers, journalists, spectators and the Japanese population – which are paramount – we support the decision taken by the International Olympic Committee and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee to postpone the Games to 2021 so we can pick up our work when it is safe to do so and deliver fair & clean competitions, true to our mission of #KeepingSportReal.

If you’re an athlete, a coach or a member of an International Federation or a National Olympic Committee and have questions regarding the implications of the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Games for the anti-doping programme, please don’t hesitate to contact us here.

For the time being, may you and your families remain safe and healthy – we extend our thoughts and solidarity to you all.
